Hello,
I am new to the site and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the following:
I had a my second ICD implanted on June 26th after having a fractured lead and being shocked four times for no reason.
Afterwards, I started experiencing what they thought were muscle spasms because the device was implanted pretty deep. However, I have started feeling an intense pulsating under my left breast. I went for a device check and they made a few adjustments. It seemed as if the adjustment helped slightly but not much.
Is this normal and will it go away with time as I heal? I am concerned that there is an issue with the lead.
Thanks,

Hello Gemita,
I really appreciate you for responding. I have had time to read the similar post. The information has been helpful. This site is amazing! I have contacted my doctor for another appointment also. I've seen the tech once for adjustments, but I won't give up until we figure out a solution.
Sincerely,
Pulsing, spasms, diaphragm area

Hi, I just read this post and I'm somewhat relieved to think that I am not alone in thinking that my spasms are related to my pacemaker. I received my pacemaker on my 67th birthday, June 23, so I'm new to this world. Beginning 3 days ago, I started getting spasms that reminded me of when I was pregnant & kicked by the baby inside me. I'm visiting my son in Texas & will be heading to Georgia soon to see my daughter. I think I may check in with my cardiologist before leaving, just in case I need an adjustment. Good luck & please let me know how your problem gets resolved. 😊❤️

Hello Shine,
I am sorry no one seems to have responded to your post. I think there are a few posts now discussing similar problems, so hope these might be helpful.
It is so difficult to understand what might have happened but from your history of a fractured lead and being shocked so many times, it would not be hard to imagine that your body will take some time to heal and recover. Pulsating to me sounds like a nerve related condition causing stimulation in the chest wall/diaphragm area. I understand your concern and I would be too. I would recommend keeping up the pressure and asking your clinic to look again for possible causes or making some further adjustments to your pacemaker settings.
I do not have an ICD but I did have and still do have some occasional pulsating sensations in the diaphragm area, especially when I am experiencing arrhythmias. I hope for the very best for you
