Pain at Pacemaker Site after 2 yrs

I have a dual chamber pacemaker placed about 2 yrs ago and I'm 53 yrs. In the past two weeks I have had increasing pain, tenderness, and slight swelling at and around the pacemaker site. I have no fever or redness. Has anyone else had this problem? What was done? I have sent a message to my Cardiologist and Electrocardiologist offices.

Are you doing anything new that might aggravate the scar tissue? Ask for cultures to rule out infection. If there is infection, you want to hit it quickly and aggressively so it's important to have a culture to know exactly what you're dealing with. Good luck.
