They are thin and flexible, intended to move with us. I was not given any restrictions. Have been doing Crossfit for 9 years and no issues, that includes barbells, pull ups, push ups. We also play with dumbbells, throw around sandballs, flip tires, swing kettlebells and all sorts of fun stuff. I also hike with a heavy pack, kayak, love ropes courses, ski. I've always been encouraged to do what I want and told not to worry about the pacer. I still have one working lead from 1994, the other was replaced in 2010 which is average lead life.
Being active is the best thing we can do for ourselves. We have wonky electrical systems, it's important to eat right to keep the arteries clear and be active to keep the muscle strong.
If you hold the bar in front rack, make sure the bar isn't putting pressure directly on your box or leads, that's about the only way you'll hurt it. Other than that, ease into it and see how you feel. Expect the scar tissue to get aggravated when you first start. It's harmless, ice will help.
Yellowstone is one of my favorite places, ever. Yosemite is on the bucket list, gotta hike that one day.
just a thank you guys

You know you're wired when...
A thirty-day guarantee is not good enough.

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.
How strong?

Pretty strong. The only thing I was warned about was bench pressing free weights. The problem is that if the weight gets loose it could crush the lead aginst a rib or clavicle. Lifting weights or pretty much any exercise is OK after the first few weeks.
