New Pacemaker

Hi!  Newbie here.  Received my pacemaker on Friday.  Where can I learn about what it feels like?  Early I felt an odd pain and wondered if that is normal.  It was a little jolt.  When I left the hospital no one told me how it would feel.  Any insight is appreciated.

What it feels like

The little jolt was probably a muscle spasm.  During the surgery a lot of nerves get disturbed.  I had a very annoying twich in my clavicle for several days after.  It didn't have anything to do with the PM itself, just the disturbed tissue around it.

They probably didn't tell you what it feels like because 1) everyone is different and 2) none of them have a pacemaker.  ;-)

In a few short weeks from now you'll probably forget you have it.

Thanks for the insight.  Right now it feels like a 1980's pager is inside my chest wall.  Lol!

It could be a number of things .... best to write done as things occur and ask your doctor on next visit ..... when I went for my second pacemaker check I was told they send a test every night when your less likely to feel it.... at night ....I feel it and it's scary ....

AnnaB121 It IS scary.  Can't tell if it's something major or normal healing.

You know you're wired when...

You can feel your fingers and toes again.
