cough

Hi Folks,
I had my implant at the end of April...things went very well. I am doing fine. I did start a cough..dry..and it has lasted up to this day. My GP says there is nothing in my lungs..it must be an allergy. I was just wondering if anybody that the same symptom..I really don't think it is the PM but I though I would ask...I am on vasotec for the last 10 years so I don't beleive it is the drug...any suggestions/
Gary

Cough

Gary,

I'll not make any suggestions, but a pacemaker can cause a dry cough just like it can cause the hiccups. Th explanation I have gotten is that some of the electrical impulse from the pacemaker will "leak" out and stimulate a nerve and cause these things. In my case the hiccups have gotten less frequent with time.

While it doesn't seem reasonable for it to take so long to happen the following are some of the known side effects for Vasotec.

"VASOTEC SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include headache, dizziness or lightheadedness, drowsiness, tiredness or weakness, and cough."
