Evening,
I have booked a Radio Frequency facial and just discovered that apparently RF interfers with the pacemaker.
I am struggling to understand why a RF wand on my face will interfere with the PM? This is not a super strong RF as it is a beauty treatment.
Anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks

Thank you for this post. I almost bought a dermawand, which uses this technology, and then realized it is not safe for me to use. Glad I checked first but sad I can't get it :(

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
It can interfere with the PM's ability to sense your natural heart beat electrical impulses

Two problems: it's essential that your PM doesn't try to deliver an electrical impulse to pace your heart just after a natural heart beat, so it needs to be able to reliably detect any naturally occurring heart beats, and secondly the RF wand may interfere with any sensing that your PM does to help it adjust the rate that your heart needs, so it may end up either under- or over-pacing your heart.
Not recommended. It's not that dissimilar to using a TENS unit around your chest, or the bathroom scales that claim to measure your body fat proportion.
