My pacemaker is showing from my skin

Hi there, this is a question that I'm pretty sure is asked a lot around here.

So basically I had "eating disorders" when I was about 12-13, I didn't eat much food because I didn't feel hungry at all, and as a result I got extremely skinny.

I'm recovering, and I got a sort of "chubby belly" I guess, but you can clearly see the pacemaker as if it was fat.

Is this a bad thing or not?

It's a thing

Since you had/have an eating disorder, I'm guessing that you have an image problem. Your pacemaker showing isn't a good thing or a bad thing. It's just a thing. I'm not skinny, by any means (skinnier than I once was) and weigh in at just over 200lbs. By pacemaker and leads are clearly visible. There may be an 1/8" of skin over them. It looks mahhhvelous. It's keeping me alive.

I know it must be hard but don't sweat the small things. We all have enough big things to keep us in worries for the rest of our lives.

You know you're wired when...

You play MP3 files on your pacer.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
