Hello from the uk

Hi just need to say this somewhere...

12th of February I passed out 4 times heart stopped 16 seconds we think each time  ambulance recorded it  the 4th time .  So 18th had a pace maker fitted all went well home next day felt amazing ..... 6 days later 1 lead had some our  screw in type.

Was an instant patient I then had a reinsertion operation 4 days later this went wrong the harpoon type that was being used got lodged in one of my valves after an hour and a half this was removed and the wire replaced and everything went well I had a horrendous night in fact the next 2 days were horrendous my pacemaker was all over the place I was in pain by sternum all over did not feel like even when I left hospital I was not 100% but I needed to get out my problem is it's been two weeks now the blood pressure pills I'm on don't agree with me and I'm cutting them down my blood pressure is good I'm hoping I don't need them im getting small pains in my chest everytime I breathe I've looked on this forum and I comforted to think that it's probably nothing I'm going to give it a few more days a little bit about me I'm 52 slightly overweight smoked a little bit don't drink walk lots with my dog part time employment I have no worries or anything never been ill this is really not me sideways this operation the first pacemaker insertion was absolutely fine I feel great normal but this fix of the wire has sent me something rotten and I don't know why I've got to be perfectly honest when the wire was stuck in my heart in the valve and they were going to have to do a chest crack to get it out I was scared witless absolutely scared and I do not want to go back in even if the wire has come out I don't care there was nothing really wrong with me if I wasn't meant to get up my heart wouldn't I was s the pearl jam on make me feel awful.

I know this probably isn't fair and what you want to hear with people that have been had their lives saved by pacemakers but this has almost broken me and I'm not really sure what to do aboutI .anyway I like what I'm reading on this site it's sort of cheered me up a little bit and I hope this doesn't make you depressed but not everything is great about them alright my first one was brilliant.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
