Iritation - tingling
I had a Biotrinik Eluna 8 DR-T installed Nov18 as precaution since there was no definitive diagnosis.
I frequently experience tingling around the PM which I'm told it is nerves reacting or recovering from the PM. Sometimes it appears my shirt may touch or rub and trigger the discomfort. But then it will occur when I'm shirtless (advantage of working from home) specifically to avoid this issue.
There doesn't appear to be any link to PM activity.
Anyone experince this and what feedback have you received.
Thanks.

I've got you under my skin

Ever heard that song?
You have a pacemaker under your skin. A pacemaker is not of insignificant size. The nerves in the area are still regenerating and also telling you something, that didn't used to be there, is under your skin.
People report all sorts of feelings-itching, tingling, tiny ant-bite zips of pain, pulling--and yes, they also report irritation caused by rubbing of clothes, bra straps, seat belts.
The odd sensations tend to come and go, but still happen occasionally for quite some time, months or longer. I still had occasional itching of the scar even 5 years out.
Your body wil heal and adjust. The time will come when you will forget for long periods that you even have a pacemaker.

Elwood, With my first PM, I would have this 'electrical thing' around my top left ribs. It occured sometimes when I sat in a particular chair on my porch which I loved. Sometimes lying down in bed & other random times that I couldn't prevent. I mentioned it to the PM nurse who was a pain in the butt and talked over me every time no matter what I was talking about. I finally said something to my Cardiologist. He said what do you think it is. I said I think one of the wires is pressing against my rib. He said EXACTLY! Then he went over to EP, told the Dr. & insisted they correct it. Guess what! A couple of turns on the dial by a DIFFERENT EP and I have NEVER FELT IT AGAIN!
EVERYBODY, trust your instincts! It is your body! if something dosn't feel right do not hesitate to tell Doctors and anybody else who makes you uncomfortable. If the chiropractic is pushing on your PC and it doesn't feel good, speak up! Insist you get what you need. Even if one person doesn't listen or care, keep speaking up until you find someone who does!

Thanks for your timely response.
I saw the notification of your post as I was about to document the last 5 months in preparation for my first cardiologist checkup in 2 days.
I just hope the appointment is long enough for the issues I want to discuss.

I volunteer in a charity woodshop. Go in an regularly throw wood around. After I was finally able to get up and going again I went into the woodshop. Job was to pick up 20 to 30 pounds of wood planks, put them on the chop saw, and clip off one corner of a stack of planks. We'd go through a pallet stack of planks and I'd get through it fine. Then spend the next few days with hot and cold packs and popping Tylenol.
The extra lifting and swinging of the wood would cause muscle swelling around the pacemaker pocket and it would feel like my pacemaker had rough edges on it. So for the next few days the "pocket" area around my pacemaker would be really sore. At or about nine months in of doing this kind of work everything finally settled down and the pocket area no longer got sore. Even went through a time where the area around the pacemaker would itch as all the nerves healed.
Based upon your description and since you don't say you have a fever which would indicate an infection, I'd still say you're feeling the nerves as your body gets accustomed to having the pacemaker in the area and your body is adapting to the foreign object. Also, it's still fairly early in your healing process and there is some deep tissue healing that goes on as the body heals and adjusts.
Hope everything else is going well for you.
