CRT LOWER E/F PART 2

Well here's a chance to learn something...  at least for me...  Cardio responded to my complaints of extreme fatigue by comparing a new ekg with one before the new crt pm was implanted last feb.INTERESTING RESULTS!!!!

the qrs sows up at 15.5 miliseconds higher than the previous ekg in feb where it was 218miliseconds.. said it was "leakingmanagement " issue and not ideal. He wants to change to bi-ventricular from multi point pacing on this st. judes crt pm..    he aqlso put me on enteusto medication 2x day.then he is off to another appt without any chance fo me to ask questions.

Iam just glad there may be a solution with settings and not the rx heart failure iwas worried about... wish we could have done this along with an echo after the inmplantin Feb 2017.. lesson here is follw up is important and dont take no when you want a follw up appt.

one other note is St Judes wanted me in a study for multi point pacing and i agreed not thinking it would affect the bi- ventricular settings.    intresting to note my old Medtronic NEVER lowered my ef in the 8 years i had it..   N0 limitations with this 2 lead ADAPTA PACEMAKER..  I NEVER knew which pm they were implanting as it was impossible to see docter before procedure.  they missed the timing by waiting too late past expiration date of my Adapta  to be changedout...despite the alerts from pm tech saying only a few days left..  looks like they wanted to use this particular crt. with any debate...  idon't think it was handled the right way..

ANYWAY,  i go in thursday to have the MULTI POINT PACING SWITCHED TO STREIGHT BI-VENTRICULAR PACING ANd AM HOPING FOR IMPROVEMENT IN MY ENERGY AND BALANCE

ANY THINKING WOULD BE APPRECIATED, IT IS COMFORTING TO HAVE SUCH KNOWLEDGEABL TALENTED MEMBERS AVAILABLE.

Confusion

by ROBO Pop - 2018-10-15 17:01:24

I have to say your post is confusing. For example, Entresto is prescribed for Heart Failure. Also Multi-point pacing is Bi-Ventricular pacing. Multi-point is just a special lead that has 4 contact points they can choose from to optimize contact near the sweet spot (optimal point of contact).

ROBO,
sorry for the confusion my point is doc says mpp not working an he wants to go with bi ventriclar settings and this will hopefully increase e/f ......wants entresto to help increase e/f aswell.   he felt the lower E/F WAS THE START OF HFand thats why he started entresto. thanks for taking time to respond....     -Philman

Low EF

Well good luck, I'll be here scratching my head but suspect you are a biot confused and aren't fully understanding your Dr.

Entresto is for end stage heart failure. That means when all else fails they try Entresto. And to be clear while it's a miracle drug for some, it's only effective in 20% of cases. I was one of the first to get the drug when it was first released and had a violent reaction, angio edema (swelling of  the throat face and neck) nearly choked to death.

and don't even get me started on MPP. I'd personally be looking for a second opinion

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
