Too fast?

My Titanium-Terror (pm) is set for 60 to 130bpm.  I notice that I feel uncomfortable if I've been active suddenly and my pulse is close or at the 130 when I sit down.  Would it make any sense to ask the techie when I go for my November check-up, to drop the higher limit to say, 115bpm.

Otherwise, the pm is just wonderful. Anyway, at age 81 I'm not too active and don't need to be,  or perhaps I should be my age and not move suddenly, but one doesn't think, like when the door bell goes or someone calls. Up one gets and rushes about without thinking.

Don't get old, it's too much fun!

upper limit

Your bio says you have heart block which means your sinus node (atria) is setting the pace, all the pacer is doing is making sure the ventricles beat when the atria does. It's playing follow the leader, it's not in charge. Upper limit is how high the pacer will pace the ventricles. If you are getting up to 130+ on your own, then turning the upper limit down will make you feel worse because your sinus rate will still be getting up there, but now the ventricles will only get up to 115. Any time the atria is beating faster than the ventricles, we will feel bad.

Ask if you are hitting your upper limit. If your sinus rate is getting over 130, that may be what you are feeling. The interrogation report will show any time this happens. You always want your upper limit to be at least 10-15 bpm over where your rate regularly gets when you exercise.

Getting old beats the alternative, I'll take my chances :o)

Thank you TraceyE.  I'll make a note to discuss this at the November check-up. And yes, getting old does beat the alternative... you should see the way I was chasing around with my nearly 3 year old great grandaughter yesterday!
