update PM

I was at my GP today who wants to put me on antidepressants.  So my cardiologist wont see me until 21st June despite fainting x2 after getting PM 23/4/18. I am concerned re my job, they put by accident that I have had a quadruple bypass on my notes.

I manage a laboratory

What sort of job do you do?

I have checked your bio and posts, and no mention.  And have you told your employer (I guess) to correct their records?

Are you working now or off sick?

I agree with Robin1, document everything at this point.

Are you on any meds for blood pressure/heart issues?  they can make you light headed and tired.

The NHS has probably saved your life with the PM but you need to get those notes changed ASAP and have your GP be very careful about which anti depressant they're thinking of using.

Check with the Cardiac doc before taking any anti depressant, as they can make the heart issues worse.

Keep notes about how things are going at appointments etc.  until things settle down.

Be reassured that they WILL settle down, its an adjustment but if you keep yourself active and eat well, sleep etc you will be fine after a few months.

None of us are prepared to be told we have cardiac issues, esp if you think it was a simple fainting spell.

Best Wishes,

Thanks for your comments, anything is a help right now.  I am currently off work I had my PM/ICD fitted on 23/4/18.  I want to go back to work but am still fainting/collapsing so I need further tests.  I cant get to see my cardiologist until 21st so nothing can be progressed until then.  I feel very frustrated and concerned re my job.  I am becoming increasingly depressed.

meantime I get to look after my elderly mother and my brother has got promoted.  This really sucks.

I manage a laboratory, and the mistake on my records is on the NHS records.

Tough times

You sound beleaguered, and who wouldn't? I'm sure all your problems are whirling in your head all the time. It must be scary to still have fainting spells, and you probably worry if you will ever be able to return to work, even if you still have a job. So many ifs. It's so frustrating to feel like you can't fix this because you can't fix that.

When you're depressed you're not do your best thinking, and even simple tasks seem overwhelming, which of course makes you feel more depressed.

Worrying will not help. Is there anyone you can turn to who can help you sort things out--help you figure out what to do first, second, etc. so that you can address your problems one at a time? Doesn't have to be a professional, just someone who is good at thinking things through.

Everybody needs a little help sometimes. With help, you can get through this.

I'll be thinking about you.

Very good strategies, Robin. Kudos!

I'm glad you added going to th ER when Sam faints.

A call from the ER to the cardio might get someone's attention.

You know you're wired when...

You have rhythm.
