A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

Chest pain is never a good sign. You need to contact your cardiologist. But here's what might be going on to set it off.
Pacemakers are supposed to be able to increase out heartrate for those times we're walking faster, exercising etc. Some pacemkaers "know" it's time to speed up when an increase in vibration is sensed. Unfortunately, the pacemaker can't tell the difference between the increase in vibration because you're walking faster or doing jumping jacks, and when the vibration is coming from a moving car in which you are sitting still.
Again, call your cardiologist. Having your heart speed up shouldn't be painful.
