I had my pacemaker implant on November 1 2017 have not felt well since. My placement was for bradycardia. I've had to be admitted to the hospital 3 times since my pacemaker implant. the last two times was for Afib. I have had the flu twice since my implant, I think I got from one the aids in the hospital. wondering could these flu symptoms be related to the pacemaker implant. I've had the hardest time trying to adjust to antiarithmetic drugs, I've took rythomol, sotalol. I am now on Cardizem. I have a rough time with these drugs because I have asthma and copd. It's been a little over 8wks shouldn't I be feeling better by now. we have very poor cardiac care here where I live. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can help myself recover. Does anyone know of a natural supplement that I could replace these antiarithmetic drugs with, they keep me coughing all the time.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
Talk to your Doc

Sorry you are still having a rough time Lilly. Talk to your Doc about possibly changing to a different med. Certain meds will not work for all of us.
Your PM implant itself will not cause the flu but it's possible you caught it from a more recent hospital stay. Lots of germs in hospitals. It's also possible you caught the flu from many other sources. It's going around.
Talk to your Doc about trying a different med if you think that may be a problem. Also make sure the doctor knows all the other meds you are taking....some will interact....and not in a good way.
