I finally had my device check after two and a half months. I have been having pain and other problems. It seems my lead is irritating the phrenetic nerve so it has to be adjusted. I will need to go to Buffalo, NY (about 90 miles). This time it will be done by a surgeon who specializes in pacemakers, instead of a general surgeon. I hope it works this time as the last three months have been rough.

yes, it does. They tell me it was because I am very thin and they had to try several locations. I am hoping this specialist surgeon will have better luck.then I was very sick for three weeks after the surgery so it was a long time before they did a device check, even tho I did ask about the problems I was having. Still waiting for a date for the surgery.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.

I had to have a lead revision too. Definitely make sure the doctor is an EP when you need any PM surgery in the future, instead of a general surgeon.
EP stands for Electrophysiologist....a Cardiologist who specializes in the electrical system of the heart.
Let us know how everything goes. Good luck.
