Anyone out there had problems with St Jude ICD unit battery corrosion and leakage ?
Everything I find on the internet has to to with the Battery Leads.

Unit leaking

Ive had it removed and have the leaking unit in my possession. St Jude rep was at the Hospital during my removal.

The recall was for premature battery failure, not leakage and corrosion. You can find the info by googling St. Judes battery recall.
Interesting that they would allow you to keep the failed device, normally they study it to determine cause and corrective action. Could you post a photo of the leaking battery in the members gallery so those of us witb the device know what to expect and can direct doubting doctors to look as evidence...thanks

FTIW, my St Jude’s was implanted 2 years in January, and it was well past the problem device serial numbers, so I’m good.
