leads

Your leads have not moved after all this time. After the first year, the scar tissue holds them in so tightly that it takes a special laser to get them out. It's possible to feel twitching if a lead fractures, but it would not be in the abdomen (unless you have an abdominal pacer). If they interrogate the pacer they can tell right away if a lead is not working properly.
Moving leads

I had a lead move out of place on me, i had shocks in my body from it, a very erratic heart beat, i felt sick, and it waa painful. It sounds like normal pacing and can be different for others. It wouldnt hurt to get it checked. Mine showed up that it waant working right when i went to the pacer check and then got an xRay.
Your lead could make your stomach twitch; happened to me

Right after I had mine implanted, the lead fell out and made my stomach twitch. In the hospital they dismissed it but it kept happening. Finally got an Xray to confirm.
Leads can become displaced after a time-- depends on the type of lead used and the heart tissue. My condition has very spongy tissue so they have to use a lead with a barb or something-- I guess like a fishhook? And the cardiac electrophysiologist said they can accidentally be pulled out (as opposed to gradually loosening) though that would probably hurt a LOT, so you'd know if it that happened.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
