Two weeks ago, I started to have sharp stinging pains around the pacemaker. Also, it feels heavy or like something weighed on it, pushing inward. This only happens two or three times a week. The episodes last up to three minutes. The pacemaker was installed May 5, 2017. I’ll have it checked out on November 15.

Nerve Regeneration

To me it felt like ant bites or a bee sting around the scar area. It comes and goes but it hurts! lol
Tia: Unless you had recent surgery in the area (a lead revision or something), I don't think yours would be nerve regeneration since your surgery for PM is 5 years old. But possible I suppose.

Nerve pains

Somtimes you get nerve pains around and in the PM site. No one can explain how or why. About the same time as you are getting the ant bites I was getting terrible itching. Went away after a couple of weeks. No lasting effects.
I'm going on four years now. Every once in a while I'll get a pain in or near the PM site. Doctor can't tell me why and they go away within a few minutes.
Hope everything clears up for you.
Interesting, I felt the same today

My unit has been in for 4 1/2 weeks now, felt the same sensation, ant bites/stinging/twitching. I guess the nerve regeneration around the implant site idea seems plausable.
Interesting
Felt it a couple of times today, for a couple of minutes each time. puzzled me but didn't really think to much of it at the time, kinda makes sense now.

I’ve been experiencing similar symptoms. My pacemaker has been implanted since 2012 and the symptoms just started a few weeks ago. Hope all is well and please update how the apt goes!
