I heard on the news that my PM was recalled due to firmware issues. I contacted Abbott Labs (who now owns the St. Jude Medical PMs) and they advised me that the firmware had a "few vulnerabilities" but no instances of hacking. They advised me to contact my Cardio's office. I called and they took my information and forwarded it to the Electrophysiology Dept. I received a call about a week later and was told that their SJM Rep said "do not do the update on the PM."
I am very concerned that they just didn't want to handle the influx of patients coming in to have their PM updated. Does anyone have any additional information, news or thoughts on this and if I should pursue anything additional?
Thanks.

If you do a search of older posts (upper right corner, it's tiny), this has been discussed probably a dozen times. I don't even know if mine has been updated and I'm not at all worried about it. There have been no issues, it's just that the potential is there for someone to read the reports. Even if it were hacked, they couldn't do anything with the information.
