Heart Rate Varying Quite a Bit

Hi All,
Not sure if this is the right subforum....I've had my pacemaker for about a year now, and a few months ago started wearing a fitness watch. Every so often I check my pulserate, and I've noticed it varies A LOT. In a span of a few minutes it can go from 70-100 and back down, with no change to my physical state, movement, position, etc...
Has anyone else experienced this, and is it unhealthy to have your heart rate go up and down so much like that?

Manually tested

Thanks for the quick reply, Ian. Yes, I've tested the watch against a BP monitor and checking my pulse manually, and it seems pretty accurate. I'll make an appt with my doctor. Thanks!

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Probably inaccurate measurement

Most fitness watches are at best expensive toys.
Have you tried the far more accurate manual method ( two fingers on the blood vessel pulse on your inside wrist ) ? If your heart rate is still varying enormously you may have some sort of arrythmia and should see a doctor.
