I am almost 4 weeks since getting my pacemaker. I did not know if anyone has experienced any fatigue within the first month of recovery. By the end of the day I am tired. Also my arm/shoulder of the side it was implanted is sore. I am only 46 years old.

I napped a lot for the first month or so. It takes time to get the drugs out of our system, for our body to bounce back from having a piece of metal in there, for the heart to get used to pacing. And through it all we are sore and likely not sleeping well. Give it time. Listen to your body, if you are tired then take a nap.
Soreness can linger. It can be from not moving enough, or sometimes we start to feel better and overdo it and end up sore from that. Ice helps.
Tired? Yes. But still better than I had been.

Although I felt almost miraculously better immediately after the surgery, I found I gave out of energy after what seemed like very little exertion. I needed more sleep and frequent rest periods. It was a little disappointing. I wanted to feel as good all day as I did when I first got up in the morning.
Then I remembered that for months before the surgery I had waked up feeling too tired to move.
Take Robin's advice about the shoulder. Gentle stretching is the key. A little more every day. If you're not sure how, you can find direction for range of motion exercises on line.

Hello, I am very new to this club, in fact having my first CRTD implanted in 4 days. I have been researching incessantly for a year and wish I had known about the pacemaker club from the beginning. Do use the search button above (magnifying glass). You will find a wealth of comments from members asking the very same question. And good luck for a speedy recovery. ❤️
