Found out my ventricular pacing capture voltage has gone up dramatically at the last check up. Now 3.5V. Will drain the PM in months if left at this level. Think either fibrosis at the lead tip site or lead fault.
The good news is that I had an atrial firbrillation (AF) ablation yesterday, had a transoesophageal ultrasound beforehand to ensure no clot in the right atrium, my sinoatrial node is not in bad shape, and my atriovetricular node is OK. Consultant thinks the ventricular lead will not be needed now that the ablation for AF has been done, and so the lead problem will be irrelevant . Says no chance of pacemaker syndrome in these circumstances, and the hysteresis loop setting also is not needed.
Great care in Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital ( Broadgreen). Lovely room, with sitting area/table , and ensuite. Huge TV and X-box facility! Staff could not have been more welcoming. Full marks to the N.H.S.
I have to have 2 days of no driving, and 1 week of no proper exercise, then hopefully, I will be the exercise equivalent of Lewis Hamilton, especially now that my rate response has been tweaked.
