Hey guys, so it's been six weeks since my surgery and the purple glue is halfway peeled off. I can actually see the scar now and it isn't so bad. I was wondering how early I can begin putting vitamin e oil on it to keep it supple and to speed up its healing/fading. Thanks!

I rubbed Bio Oil

I think if the wound has healed as you say, which I would expect by 6 weeks, then fine to start rubbing oil on now.
I used Bio Oil, most days for probably the best part of a year, and it definitely made a difference - my Pacemaker scar is almost invisible, and my 8" / 200mm scar from heart surgery is very light when I compare it to a similar aged friend who also had heart surgery but did not apply any oil.
Bio oil contains Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil and Chamomile Oil
Read more at http://www.boots.com/bio-oil-200ml-for-scars-stretch-marks-and-dehydrated-skin-10072167#sFFCQsXLIB6xCYA6.99 where they say applying it on a young scar is more effective - so don't wait!

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Maybe NEVER ??

Hi I am curious . Why are you so certain that it will help ?
Everything I have read suggests that Vitamin E has no beneficial effects whatsoever on scar healing / fading and may even be harmful . I am sure many companies are making money pushing this old wives tale but there doesn't seem to be any evidence to back it up.
Why not let nature take its course ?
