It was this way weeks before surgery also. Any one else have similar issue?
Thanks...

I have also experienced tightness and discomfort below the diaphragm.I believe there could be several things to consider and keeping a symptom diary might help you identify your triggers. Look at your medications, consider the size and content of your meals and fluids, consider post op inflammation putting pressure on your transverse colon or on your vagus nerve and be aware of how you are breathing as shallow short breathes may cause spasms in this area. The other issue that can cause discomfort in this area is poor pacing calibration so mention this at your follow up appointment. In my case I get relief from taking a peppermint based IBS product and by being aware of my breath. I have had a defibrillator implanted, replacing my pacemaker, 14 days ago and am feeling the discomfort you speak of, a couple of times a day. I do feel confident this will improve with time and hope the same for you. Cheers and good luck.

Taking pain medications by chance? They always mess up my digestive system and results in constipation and belly aches.
I hope you find the answer and get it resolved quickly.
