Hi everyone I joined tonight! Just had a dual chamber pacemaker put in yesterday at 10A-my brother, sister and Mom all have one but they’ve had them a long time and don’t remember the beginning. Pardon the pun but did anyone feel wired afterwards? Like Neuropathy but different? I wasn’t sleeping well before the procedure but now can’t sleep. Went from a rate of 30’s to 40’s to 60.

Today is day 8. My Heart rate also was in 30's for several weeks prior to placement. I am also struggling with sleep. I sleep 2 to 3 hrs a night. I am taking minimal naps. I feel this is slowing down healing process. Dr said to bring it up at wound check appt on the 23'rd if it was still an issue.
I know how frustrating lack of sleep is so will be sending sleepy thoughts!
You know you're wired when...
You can take a lickin and keep on tickin.

I still feel great today and cant stop feeling excited at my "new" life. Modern day miracles through medicine and electronic devices are amazing!

My rate was also in the 30's before and it felt like I'd been mainlining coffee those first weeks after. We got used to half of a normal heart rate, so it's a bit of an adjustment. It'll soon feel normal! Give yourself some time to heal and adjust.
