I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
Soreness and Anxiety

Hi there,
I got my pacemaker in late february of this year. I had turned 21 two dyas after surgery, which was rough. It took me a while to get back on track with life, because mentally I was afraid. Physically, I will say that the pain does go away and when you begin to get your nerves back it just feels different, and sometimes you will have pain, but not always. I cannot relate enough with you about the anxiety. I really struggled and battled with anxiety the first few months, before deciding to go see some help for it. Seeing a therapist is nothing to be ashamed of, especially after going through something like this. Welcome to the Club btw! :)
