I have had a duel chamber PM for three years now due to AV node ablation. My ejection fraction has reduced by 5% in a year (50%-45%). The doctor said that can happen with a duel chamber PM when you are using it for a CHB. Has anyone had theirs replaced? What was the procedure like? And the post-op period?

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.

I had that happen last fall. Started feeling dizzy a lot, weakness etc.
they replaced my PM with a CRT-P. the procedure is very much like getting the first PM, same limitations to allow for healing and the procedure itself was a bit longer than the PM insertion but who cares when they give you some drugs eh?
the only thing I was minimally disappointed about, is that the device seems a lot bigger and its quite visible when I wear certain clothes. Im getting to old to be vain anyway......lol
Yes, when you are paced a lot the heart changes. the CRT is to get your EF back up if possible. I was lucky, it went up about 5%. feeling much better now, thankfully.
Best of luck
