I am 20 years old and was born with a congenital heart block... I am getting my pacemaker battery changed out next week and they're switching it from subdermal placement to subpectoral and was just wondering if anyone has experience with this/could tell me some positives about it. I'm nervous and excited at the same time, but looking for a way to keep my spirits up.
Thanks!

I've had submammary and subpec, love it! You will probably be sore while it heals but once it heals it's great because it never gets in the way.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
Sub pec

There are many articles on the internet about sub pec placement. The articles I read through were positive about sub pec. Seems to be a good idea especially for the athletic young folks.
Hope the procedure goes well for you.
