Newbie--day 5

I want to see if what I am feeling is "normal".  Every once in a while I get this weird sensation I can feel in my heart and head.....is this the PM kicking in?  Trying to stop another AF episode?

Most people don't feel when their pacemaker activates, some can. I can feel mine and it is an odd feeling.

The feeling may be your pacer, or it could just be your body trying to get used to having an intruder inside it. Since you are only on day 5, you probably have your one week checkup soon. Your doctor will check to make sure your pacer is working correctly and run some tests on it. He can also tell you how often you are paced, when, and what your heart was doing at the time.

I would suggest that you keep a log of the time and day of when you fell the sensation and ask your doctor if any of those times are when your pacer activated. If they match, you know the feelings are the pacer, If not, the feelings are due to something else.

Don't be afraid to ask the doctor whatever questions you may have. It is your body and your health. You are in charge. I had the clinic print the full report from my interogation. I may not understand all of it at first, but I intend to learn all I can.

You know you're wired when...

Your life has spark.

To tell you the truth I never even give it a second thought. While growing up it never stopped me from doing anything and to this day my girlfriend or my kids need to remind me that I have one!
