I got my pacemaker and leads completely taken out Friday. The electrophysiologist that took it out said when he got in there, I had a lot of inflammation from too many ch scar tissue that wrapped around my pacemaker. The reason I had it removed is because I was having chronic pain and swelling in my arm. The surgery went great but I am in slot of pain. I know it will take a few weeks to heal. Next week he is going to put a monitor on me to see how often I have my arrhythmia. I only paced 1to 2 % when I had pacemaker. My question is.....is the pacemaker suppose to eventually grow into the muscle or is it normal for it to have a lot of scar tissue around it? And has anyone on here have had pacemaker completely taken out? If so, how long was your recovery?

Thank you. I agree with you. I am a massage therapist and also workout. I am a 3 year plus crossfitter. However, had to slow down once I got pacemaker.
Thank you for the feedback. Hopefully the pain does get better.
