Frustrated - chest and throat pressure.

In another post a couple days ago, I explained that I have chest and throat pressure since having my PM implanted - which by the way, I never once had BEFORE the PM.  I made an appointment to see my cardiologist yesterday, only to go to the office and be told they messed up the appointment and my doctor wasn't even in the building yesterday.  The receptionist spoke with the device tech who said to her that my symptoms "can't have anything to do with my PM", which I don't believe because I have read it from many of YOU!  They settled on scheduling a limited echo today (which I already had for this same complaint the day after my surgery - no issue) and then a follow-up with my cardiologist tomorrow.

I thought maybe I was doing too much by walking every day 1-2 miles, but I woke up with the pressure this morning.  Straight out of bed.  The pressure is in the center of my chest and in the front base of my throat where that "hollow" is. It feels like I traded one set of symptoms for others.  So frustrating.

You need an EP

If your cardiologist is not also an electrophysiologist, probably you need to see one who is.

Do not accept "Your pacemaker is working fine." It probably is working exactly the way it's programmed to, but the program settings might not be ideal for your heart.

Cardiologist are trained to look for heart disease, but wiith a diagnosis of SSS, it's entirely possible that you have no heart disease at all. Iif the problem is with the pacemaker settings, that's a heart rhythm issue. (Yes, they are two different things.) Insist on being seen by an electrophysiologist (EP.) If neccessary, go somewhere else.

The EP in the office put my pm in.  It's an office of 5 cardiologists.  My doctor works closely with the EP and the EP actually ordered my limited echo today.  I feel confident they get together on my case, so hopefully this can get resolved soon.  Indeed, they don't think I have any heart disease in my "plumbing.  Just the electrical. I see my cardiologist tomorrow and will stay after him about settings.  Thanks.

I was tweaked.

I saw my cardiologist yesterday and they decided to tweak my pacemaker.  They turned the rate response function on and took my numbers from 50/130 to 60/150.  I was so happy they tried something!  I was so tired all the time.  So far this morning, no chest pressure and no throat pressure.  It's only 4:47am so we'll see how fatigued I am today.  Thanks to all of you who helped me out on this.
