Hi has anyone had a collapsed lung after pacemaker? There were 2 other people in my ward with collapsed lung after having a similar procedure and they had all been done at the same hospital. Does this seem excessive as I thought it was a low percentage complication.

I live in the U.K. I signed a consent form which listed collapsed lung as a risk. However I feel I do need to take this further. Not quite sure how to go about this though.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
extremely excessive

All complications combined are less than 4% of new pacemaker implants. Of complications, collapsed lung is a very small percentage of those.
