What you are desscribing is a classic sign you have developed an inferction in your pacemaker pocket...Demand they take cultures and get that crap under proper treatment immediately or you'll regret it. Rest assured I know of which I speak. I'll post a couple images for your viewing pleasure of the consequecnces...

A blister from a bra strap?!!!! Not possible. If something was rubbing over the top of your incision, you would be howling in pain long before you rubbed a blister.
Infection around the pacemake is very serious. It could go to your heart. Frankly, if they haven't managed to deal with it in two tries, I wouldn't give them another chance.
Go to a different doctor. Tell him/her what has been done so far. Ask for a culture.
Or go to the ER. Yes, it's that serious.
Recurrent blister over PM site.

Let me add to those before me: this is likely to be from the ICD site rather than a primary skin rubbing problem. It should be managed with the same severity as a septicaemia.
A swab of the discharge ( for bacteriology sensitivity) is a minimal mandatory requirement.
You should be on antibiotics for some time.
You need to have a safety first approach. Don't be messed with !
Best wishes,
Selwyn

Infected Blisters on ICD Box

Hi! Can you tell us how it went? I had a PM put in on May 2nd (about 9 weeks ago) and I started developing a small, blister looking area in the incision about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I had an appointment with my PCP and he said the same thing as your doctor - it doesn't look infected and it's just damage from my bra strap. It's gotten more puffy (yeah that's a real medical term, haha!) and looks like it has more fluid in it but isn't leaking. I have an appointment with my cardiologist next Monday but can't get in sooner. I'm a little hesitant to go back to my PCP since he already didn't think it was anything...

Are they sure there's no chance it's coming from the pocket?? Because that needs to be taken seriously and treated aggressively. The leads go straight to the heart, we can't risk infection anywhere near them.
Did they do cultures to confirm you are on the right antibiotics?
