I build hot rods so I weld alot...I read about the warnings & welding. BUT is there any of you who have personal experience welding with a device?
Any shielding methods, etc.

Maybe check with the PM manufacturer. Medtronic have a good guide about EMC and what you can /cannot do. They cover welding in there. Basically you are ok if the current is below 160 amps.

I was also told that I could not do any welding by my doctor; however, I'm going to call Biotronic to validate this and post their response asap.

I was told by my DR. , no welding. Medtronic book said ok up to 130 amps. I called Medtronic, they said that had been raised to 160. That was in early 2015, been hobby welding ever since, no problems, yet.

that's the info. i was looking for...are you mig or tig (steel/alum) welding?
You know you're wired when...
You forecast electrical storms better than the weather network.

To tell you the truth I never even give it a second thought. While growing up it never stopped me from doing anything and to this day my girlfriend or my kids need to remind me that I have one!

If you do a search (top right corner), this comes up fairly often. ARC is the only type we need to be careful, other forms are ok.
