Morning All - I'll be experiencing one of the issues I've read about here, fixing a lost lead.
If I hadn't already read about this here, I'm sure I would not be so calm. I knew what the problem likely was as soon as I was asked if I already had breakfast.
Anyway, one of the leads did not clamp where/as it should have and went "way down" somewhere. I'd like to think this really just means an added day to recovery, but we need to get through surgery first... All should be just fine, one more day not cooking for me, yay!

Corrective Procedure Done
by JoJo B - 2017-05-05 21:19:07
All OK again this afternoon post second procedure to fix the stray lead... finally able to have a meal and meds... Will see how things are after tomorrow morning's chest x-ray, then breakfast and can go home home home, yay!! Easy Peasy.
Tip 1: Just don't eat anything until doctor has viewed the chest x-ray... Saves a lot of time and discomfort.
Tip 2: Also, if you have ample breasts at all, get your total stretchy bra on asap and carefully tuck your wires under as needed, get rid of the hospital gown and wear your own light, loose comfy shirt and shorts - so much more comfortable without extra tugging on the incision.

Hope you are doing well after 2nd procedure. What was anesthesia used-full sleep or local-for resetting leads?
Hopefully you go home today!!
Anesthesia for Repositioning Leads
by JoJo B - 2017-05-06 08:57:00
This was the topic of much discussion... I thought I would need another General (fully out), and clarified that I did not want a big breathing tube, or to be intibated.
However, spending time speaking with both the surgeon and anesthesiologist helped me realize that I could go fully to sleep and not know, feel, or remember anything with just good sedation, and without the general anesthesia. Relaxer in the IV is a great start, then after transferring onto the operating table the little mask with oxygen and closely controlled sedation was more than sufficient. Waking and recovery is faster and more optimal, less chance of getting nauseated, and you always remain breathing on your own. Was great!
You know you're wired when...
You have the perfect reason to show off your chest.

One week has passed and I must admit that each day I feel a little stronger.
