I had my device implanted just over two weeks ago. I was expecting to feel pretty good my now, but I still get very tired from very limited activity. My followup visit suggested everything is working properly. Perhaps I am just being impatient. What is a reasonable expectation for how I should be feeling after two weeks and how long before I can expect to start feeling like getting after some exercises (walking, etc.)?

Recuperation

I woke up from procedure feeling good. Now 1 year. I was careful for about 2 months so that leads would attach properly. After that no restriction and feeling good. Hardest thing for me was to learn to trust that the pacemaker was dependable. Only adjustment was to raise the upper limit from 130 to 150 so I could exercise more.
Hope things improve for you

I'm on my 6th week now and just beginning to get my energy back.I think 3 days is a little unrealistic.
Adjustments

Be sure to talk to your doc about this! There are sooo many little adjustments they can make on your pacemaker settings! What is your pulse set at? I was lethargic at 60 bpm and when they set me to 70 it was a lifechanger! Seriously, make sure they listen to you!

I really appreciate the comments and reassurances that this can take a bit longer than I was expecting. I have had some adjustments done and between that and the healing that is taking place, I am starting to feel better. It's great to know that others have been in the same boat! Thanks!
Repositioning

Turns out that I have a lead out of place. So ICD is causing more issues than it is solving. So much of my frustration with not recovering as expected is explained. I go in this coming week to get it repositioned. Hopeful that the outcome will be different/much better this time.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

Hi Dwight for me it was three weeks to get my energy back and a little movement(I had mine under the muscle though which has a longer recovery time. I like you was suprised as my doctor told me I'd be feeling back to normal in 3 days!! 5 weeks on now and only starting feeling myself this week! Good luck with your recovery x
