The cough could be a bug caught in the hospital or remnants of anesthesia. The swollen feet could be medication or not moving around enough. However, both could also be symptoms of something more serious so she needs to be seen.

Did they put your Mom on an ace inhibitor? Or was she already on one?
When I was first prescribed my ace inhibitor it made me cough.
Truthfully though - cough plus edema may equal too much fluid retention. She needs to discuss this with her doctor.
Heart failure patients often develope a cough due to fluid build up around heart and lungs. On the other hand it could just be a medication reaction.
She needs to be seen and screened by a cardiologist.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.

Hi, had my PM fitted a month ago and have also had a cough since! I put it down to getting a bug in the hospital. I'm hoping it will clear up soon.
