Hi All,
I received my pacemaker about a year and a half ago and all has been going pretty well! Here lately though, I have been noticing some discomfort and almost like a pressure type pain in the pacemaker area! This happens especially after I sleep on my left side. Also, my baby cousin pushed in on my pacemaker site by accident and it hurt A LOT!
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced discomfort a year or more after their pacemaker implantation!
Thanks! :)

Mine can be sensitive

My site becomes sensitive when hit or something rubs over it like my seatbelt. It think thats' normal. Like Tracey says, ice it. If it persists ask your doctor.

Tracy is totally right it moves around!
But yes, I think it really stopped bothering me after a couple of year, however still tiches around it sometimes.. but nothing major, just avoid contact sports or babies with stuff on their hands too close to you.. ouch!
Good luck

shifting

Sometimes they shift a bit, sometimes we do something to irritate the scar tissue. Ice should help when things like the baby cousin happen. It doesn't do any damage, it just hurts!
Signs of infection to watch for- new swelling or redness, oozing, fever, streaks. If you have any of those with the pain, be seen asap and don't let them write you off without doing cultures.
