Still tender after 8 weeks

Tomorrow, March 8th, I will be 8 weeks post-op from receiving my pacrmaker.
For the most part I have healed very nicely. However, now it is just constantly tender around the location of my pacemaker. It's almost as though the area below my skin is extremely raw or tender most of the time. Is this normal or should I be worried that my skin is wearing away and I may need to have additional surgery done?
My pacemaker was implanted on January 11.

So wondering if this is normal? I have full range of motion in my shoulder, I was cleared to resume all activities at my 6-week post-op/interrogation, and I otherwise feel great. But this tenderness just below the scar! No swelling or redness. Just always sore.
Thank you, belsheart. Best wishes to you!
Same Boat

I'm in the same boat as you - got my PM on Jan 9th 2017.
The area above and around the PM is sensitive/tender but it doesn't really hurt. I have had some twinges of pain when sleeping and I roll over to my left side but generally I'm just fine. Fully cleared and full motion. I think for the most part I'm a bit creeped out having this thing under my skin. On the other hand, it is keeping me alive so I think it just takes some getting used to. Sometimes I even forget it's there but I do find myself touching a few times each day.
slightly sore

Mine still feels like.....an old sore. If that makes sense, but I think it will eventually go.
My Ep says it's normal and will take a while (varies by person) basically what he told me was that the pocket even though formed has to fully heal up on the inside and this could take quite a while.
You know you're wired when...

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
still tender

All I can say is that I'm in the same boat at 6-7 weeks out:)
