Post PM Implementation Meeting With Doctors

Had my first post-op meeting with the doctors today and I must be the luckiest guy in the world.

I had the PM implementation and two stents put into the middle heart artery. Turns out the problem is completely electrical and is "fixed" by the PM. I am pacing at 100% - no communication at all between the upper and lower parts of the heart. I had a 75% blockage in the middle heart artery (widow maker artery) but I have no heart damage at all. Per the doctors, complete electrical block is very rare for a 60 year old.

Now for the lucky part. The blockage in the middle artery might have killed me in the near future. The need for the PM leading to the look at my arteries led to finding and fixing the blockage.

So now with 3 clear heart arteries and a well functioning PM, I am one healthy dude. I was sure I would have long term damage that I would have to deal with. Now I have a relatively clean bill of health!

Well, now you know you can enjoy and make the most of the next 20-30 years!

I'm also paced 100% and it's worked out well for nearly a decade.

Best Wishes,

It looks to me like you spent time viewing the videos about how the heart works. You knew what questions to ask to find out what you needed to know. As a result, you are able to see the glass half-full, which indeed, it is.

Good for you!

It's really wonderful that your heart sustained no damage even though you had blocked artieries. I would urge you to continue educating yourself about what you can do to improve the health of your arteries from now on. It's not easy to change how you've eaten all your life, but diet can reduce inflammation which doctors now think is the real culprit in clogged arteries.

You are indeed one lucky man, and the people who love you are lucky too.

You know you're wired when...

You invested in the Energizer battery company.
