Just had a pacemaker implanted 4 days ago thank God it is MRI compatible because I suffer from back issues trying to determine how long I will feel sluggish and out of breath after a little activity I do maintenance at a apartment so both of my arms are critical to perform my job the surgeon who implanted the PM sad after 2 weeks I would be back to normal but one of his associates said it would be 6 weeks any advice from y'all would be much appreciated the surgery was performed at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham Alabama which is probably the best hospital in Alabama thanks for your responses in advance

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.

The normal recovery period is about 6 weeks. Frankly, you should be pretty good to go after about 2 to 3 weeks. You should give yourself a break and take as long as you need to feel good.
There is absolutley no reason why you cannot do your job after you are recovered. Actually, you should be able to do a much better job with your shiny new PM. You have a long and healthy life ahead of you now. Enjoy it!
