I am 84 years old and have had perfectily normal blood pressure for years. In early August 2016 I had a pacemaker installed. In early October at an exam, it was noticed that my blood pressure was elevated, so I purchased a monitor. Since then I have had three incidents of a sharp pain in my right ear (believe it was the eardurm) Several others on this site have mentioned the same event. According to all information I can obtain, blood pressure decreases during the night. Mine does just the opposite. During sleep it gets up to 150+ until I wake. An MD acquantance asked me if I were athletic. I had biked for over 50 years and my resting pulse was in the 50's. He said that since my pacemaker minimum was 60, it was likely that during a dream my body detected the elevated rate, and reacted as if I were awake and pumped up my blood pressure to respond to what I was dreaming as if I were awake. The problem is that none of the medical professionals have any idea or knowledge what I am speaking of, but the evidence is clear; the pacemaker caused the problem. If anyone else has the same problem I would like to know whether they have had similar experience

You know you're wired when...
Your old device becomes a paper weight for your desk.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
Min HR

You did not indicate the reason for your PM, but said that your previous resting HR was 50.
If you where not having symptoms at 50 ask for your PM min to be lowered.
And some PM's have option to have lower setting for sleeping. Other will allow a lowering of HR when resting as long as the HR stays regular.
Not sure if that will have any effect on your BP.
