Have had PM for 18 months (complete heart block) and just had pm check. I have gone from being originally 98% dependant to 55% at last check and now 86%. My question is- why has it increased again and is there anything I can do to make it decrease? I feel less energetic with PM than I did before too and it bothers me. Can anyone advise?

I have have my pm for complete heart block for over 6 years now. I had incidences early on where I was being totally paced to only being paced about 20% of the time. Slowly, over the past few years I have gone to being almost 100% paced. My doctor has no answer for me. I do know that my pm is set to "on demand" and to tell you the truth, I really do not think about it much at all. I do exercise so that may be a reason that I feel good, but I am also 60 yo and not the youngster I was when I got my pm so not as energetic as I was over 6 yrs ago.
Do you exercise on a regular basis? walking is great and may be all you need to boost your energy.

Ask them if they changed your settings. Sometimes they go a little overboard trying to minimize pacing and it can leave us feeling bad. Most of us with complete block pace every beat. How much we pace isn't as important as how we feel.
