PM info websights

Hi All,
I am recovering from a lead replacement last Thurs. I can occationally feel what I believe is pacing on the lower right side of the left side of my chest. I am not sure whether or not to be concerned about it. I will see my Dr. on Friday. I need to have more general information on PM's and I was wondering if there are any other websights that would help me to understand more about my PM. My Dr. is good about answering direct questions but most of the time I don't know what to ask. In reading other messages it seems as if other members are very knowledgable as to settings etc. Any info would be appreciated.

Your PM's site

Bonnie-

Type the name of your pm brand into a yahoo or google search and the company will come up. Go to their site and search for specific info on your pm. Most of these sites are GREAT. If you need more help, let us know.

If your pm is nestled inside your chest doing it's job, you really shouldn't feel anything. That is unless there is a setting that needs to be adjusted or if you are just hyper-focused on the pm with the new lead working. If anything, you can feel the pm kick in during the ventricular beat because it is the stronger of the heartbeats (that is if you pace in the ventricles).

It's good to hear that you have a doctor who will take the time to listen to you and answer your questions. I would give you some more ideas on pm but I don't know what kind you have or brand or why you have it. Can you give us some more info? How long have you had it? Why the lead replacement?

Pace well!

Same Feeling

I have had the same feeling. Went to a checkup today. I have had my PM for 6 weeks. The way the PM nurse explained it was that if you shift to your left side at all the heart can be close to the ribs and the pacemaker beat is stronger than your old beat and that's what feels like pacing there. She said it was harmless and I would learn to ignore it in time. Hope that is true. As a newbie too I would like to learn more so I can ask more intelligent questions. I guess the real secret is just ask-they've probably heard it all before and you won't be the first or last to ask the same question.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
