burning/electric shock sensation

Hi all,

I'm new here as you can tell. Found this site while surfing symptoms.

I had my device implanted on 6 Sep 16. Thelead up to the necessity is long and I'll be happy to discuss it later if anyone is even remotely interested. Suffice it to say, my birthday gift to my son for his 27th birthday was continuing to live.

The issue I'm having is something difficult to explain. My healing and adjustment has been going well. I am aggrivated by having to be on light duty, but at least I can work. HOWEVER, last night (9/30/2016) I was stretched out in my recliner watching t.v., when my peekapoo jumped up from out of nowhere and landed directly on top of my device. There was some initial pain from the impact that went away, but in the proccess of lightly massaging the area, i touched a section just below the device and it felt like I had pressed the two posts of a battery to my skin, sort of a burning electrical shock. I went to bed, and it appears to not be happening today. I'm concerned and plan to go to my cardiologists walk-in clinic monday.

Any thoughts???

You're Still Healing

The lead ports of your device are at the top of the PM and the leads loop around toward the center of your chest so there should be no leads (wires) directly below your particular device.  If it happens again, call your doc.

In rare circumstances, the device can be implanted upside down but not very likely.

Go in on Monday like you are planning for peace of mind.

Burning electric shock sensation

I'm not sure what exactly happened when something fell on your chest, but I do know that when I experienced tingling, shocking, burning sensations around my implantation site. I could actually feel the wires burning (I have two wires - one into top and one into bottom chamber). This eventually went away. I think when you first get your device you are super tuned in to anything that might go wrong and you feel every sensation. Try not to freak out too much!

You know you're wired when...

You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.
