How long does it take before the soreness and the stiffness in the tranplant area disappears?

I have just completed my 3rd week. I am walking 2 1/2 miles and moving my arm with very simple lateral exercises. I don't raise my arm beyond my check so I guess I am doing everything right. I am still sleeping on my back per doctor instructions. Thanks for the pep talk. I will be glad when the 5 weeks are up.

Soreness Post Op

I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and my shoulder soreness is gone, and my incision site soreness is just slightly noticable now.

I have been walking 4-5 miles/day with some light jogging mixed in there too for the past 2-3 weeks.  Not everyday, but most days I have been doing this.  I have been using my arm/shoulder normally for quite some time now, but not raising it above my head yet or lifting heavy with that arm.

I have been sleeping on my right side and back since surgery.  Just this week, my pacemaker site feels okay to sleep on my left side for short times throughout the night too.  I wasn't given limitations about sleeping on either side.

Hope this helps!! Wishing you all the best!! :)

Daily movements not long

by Lisalac - 2016-09-12 23:54:16

I was doing daily movements not long after the surgery trying to keep them minor. Have ver after 3 months I finally did some physio because my poor shoulder hurt and it was not at all flexible. Learned some great stretches now I'm into my 9 month and I'm back ton the gym and running 1/2 marathons.  Just make sure to get proper exercises that stretch t out once you can and keep using it.
