This my first visit, 10 days post-op. Please help me with some questions I should ask besides the obvious ones about driving, etc.

Your doctor will probably interrogate your PM to check how it is performing. If he does, you can ask what percent of the time your PM is pacing your heart. For example, mine is pacing 78.5 % in the atrium and 1% in my ventricle. They checked the impedance of my leads and that figure tells you how well they are attached to your heart wall. My two leads have impedances of 100% and 99% and that is excellent. You could also ask if your PM rate response feature is turned on, if not, why not etc. You could also ask what symptoms should be considered serious and should receive prompt medical attention. Are you taking medications? How do you feel? Discuss problems with energy or fatigue if appropriate. If your post op instructions were not very comprehensive, you could ask about increases in activities etc. Write questions down as they occur to you. I am sure that other PM Club members will have some good advice for you. Let us know how your appointment works out.
