pacemaker installed 8-16-16, woke up in sugical ward right after they finished ,immediatly felt electric shocks in center of my chest, told the nurses . one guy in back told them he was adjusting something.they said ok. they rolled me out to recovery, and i felt 4 or 5 more hard jolts again. my wife told the attending nurse that i said it was shocking me.she just brushed it off. came home the 17th about 9:30 while in my recliner it hit me again 4 or 5 times. this is just supposed to be a pacemaker not a difibulator combo. supposed to go back to dr. tomorrow any ideas what could be wrong? this one made by boston scientific.

I too had this on the second day after pm implant. EP shrugged off at first until I insisted that there was smething really wrong as I could not rest as it would happen whenever I would lean forward or la lay back. When they rechecked they found the RV lead was micro-dislodged, meaning it was not fully embedded in the muscle resulting in high lead impedence and therefore much higher PM pacin voltage. Had to wait 3 weeks for revision surgery and problem is resolved. Unfortunately revision surgery is a complete redo and healing starts all over.

Nerve

I've had a few pacemakers. One of them would "jump" or vibrate with the beat of my heart, if I raised my arm to a certain level. I showed this to the Dr. and he said the pacemaker was probably against a nerve. He offered to go back in and move the pacemaker. Since it occured at just one position of my arm I simply avoided raising my arm to that position. But, I wasn't getting shocked. Sounds like a nerve to me. See your Dr.as planned. Good luck.
