Dual chamber pacemaker placed in 2013 for Brady-tachy syndrome. Normally demand paced in the atrium with occasional pacing of the ventricles. I am now 19 weeks pregnant and have all of the sudden been pacing in the ventricles anywhere from 60-91% (up from 2% prior to pregnancy). They tried reprogramming due to undersensing in the ventricle, but it has not helped. Has anyone had anything like this happen?

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
odd!

Ventricular pacing usually means block. Theoretically there isn't any connection between pregnancy and av block tho we've had some members who were diagnosed with av block for the first time during pregnancy. Who knows if they had it before and were asymptomatic and undiagnosed previously or if that's when it started. If it was the pacer jumping in inappropriately, it shouldn't have suddenly changed when you got pregnant. Weird!!!! When we are pregnant our circulation changes and we are flooded with hormones so strange things happen. If you feel good and your doctors aren't worried, I would focus on the baby and not worry about it.
