Going in 13th July for my AV node ablation to hopefully eradicate my persistant PM tachycardia.
Feeling so apprehensive as the op gets closer, felt so sure, but typically having a better spell and the brain goes into are you doing the right thing mode.
I know that they would not be doing it if they (EP) didn't think the benifits were worth it, since it's the NHS know one is making a fast pound/euro (think the UK is back to using salt as a currency at the mo. lol!!).
How good has any one been after this, Golden Snitch has given me great info as usual but any more is always good.
Hopefully its just pre op nerves, but as nothing has gone straight forward so far , scared to be too positive.
Cheers

av node ablation

I have literally never ever had anything go as expected for me and my heart health. But you have to try and look at it this way:
You can spend all your time and energy worrying about how it will go and it will still do NOTHING to change the situation. I totally understand being afraid to stay positive, but the alternative is really just torturing yourself while you wait. When I am waiting for another ablation, of which I had now racked up seven, I remain nuetral. I tell myself that thinking about the outcome will not make it better or worse. You have to ONLY try and control the things that are reasonably within your reach. So, the night before an ablation I shave from my chin down to my ankles and in the morning I blow dry my hair as nicley as I can. I may not be able to control how the procedure goes but I can control unsightly body hair and looking like a crazy person! =)
Focus on what you can control, not the things you literally have no part in. And then when you come out of the procedure you will deal with whatever the outcome is then. But, not a moment sooner. So try yourself that mental torture!!
You'll do fine. Whether it all works exactly as you are hoping or not, you will be fine. Humans remain very skilled in adapting to any situation that presents itself.
Best of luck, keep those legs smooth!!! ; )
Thank you
